Today's community share comes to us from @kittenkaboodlecraft - a cosplayer who's been coming to AARC since the early days. 😁#therealog Check out Mari's advice and be sure to click the link in the bio to claim your tickets. "So I started attending Asheville Anime Regional Convention the first year that it ran and I've made it a point to go back every year as soon as I find the dates out it goes on my calendar. The first year I went as my phone and on a whim decided to enter into the costume competition. Having entered competitions before and never placing I didn't have high hopes for this one and at that point in my life I have been going through a very difficult time I had recently lost my mother I had gone through a very bad breakup and part of me was considering stepping away from cosplay. That you're I won Best in Show for the cosplay competition that they held I was asked to return the following year as a judge. Since then I've judge several of the cosplay competitions and any that I didn't judge I entered in. Aarc inspired me to keep trying, work hard and challenge, and try new things. Since AARC I have created 4 very successful panels, some of which people pay me to come host!! I have placed in several craftmenship competitions and learned so much. I honestly don't believe I would be where I am at if I had not attended #AARC. So thank you to the staff and thank you to the attendees. This con is so important to me and I will always want to keep it alive!!! My advice to first time #panelists and cosplayers is to just try it. Everyone starts somewhere, so don't let a sense of being overwhelmed prevent you from trying!!"

Today's community share comes to us from @technonuggets He's a cosplayer that you've likely seen at #AARC sporting his excellent hand-made cosplays. Here's his story, "Ive been going to the AARC for the past 4 years.
Every year Ive made my costume from scratch each time, and Ive worked on each costume for several months till I get it to as close to perfection as I can get.
Ive always tended to wear a mask (first year a basic plastic one, then a gasmask, and then my #Ennard mask) due to not really wanting to talk to anyone because of my social anxiety, but each year I ended up talking to so many wonderful people and its built lasting friendships for me. I've gotten more and more into cosplay because of this wonderful convention.
It also introduced me to my long time girlfriend Olivia who has changed my life for the better. Because of this convention I met the most amazing person ever and I cant imagine my life without her. So thank you 😊
This year I intend to make a lasting impression with my partners and I's couples cosplay! I cant wait!!" His advice to first timers? "Just go with it. Sometimes it might seem stressful to get something together in time, but at the end of the day its so worth it to have built something so amazing. Just go with confidence and it'll all work out."
